But in the classroom, the concept and careful implementation of academic freedom can help to navigate sensitive discussions.
This past week was Transgender Awareness Week leading up to today’s Transgender Day of Remembrance. The Ubyssey talked to UBC community members about the significance of this week and day.

Another of Hamid’s executive goals was to create a centralized space for feedback on AMS services — but nothing has materialized so far.
Holmes is one of the AMS’s most visible, ambitious and productive executives.
“Rather than promoting goodwill and unity, the AMS has failed to condemn hate in some instances while hyperbolizing it in others. I want an AMS that respects that students can have unity and goodwill amongst each other despite disagreements.“
