This November, five undergraduate students from UBC will have the extraordinary honour of sitting in on the United Nations Climate Change Conference, called Conference of Parties (COP 23) in Bonn, Germany.
UBC’s reputation as a sustainable campus was recently recognized with a Sustainability Innovation Award in Facilities Management, awarded by APPA: Leadership in Educational Facilities. This marks the second time that UBC has been honoured by APPA.
The nominees for this year’s 32nd Annual BC Book Prizes include at least one UBC alumnus for all seven categories, which is an incredible feat in itself. Some of these authors will also be taking a month-long tour around schools in British Columbia.
On February 26, take a well-deserved break from midterms and join the UBC Choral Union, University Singers and Eric Hamber Secondary Chamber Choir at the Chan Centre for their annual Bach to Spring concert.
Broca's mosaics are far more contemporary than the traditional roman style. "Doing mosaics, it seems to me, is taking a fragmented world and putting those fragments together to make the world whole," she said. "In that sense it is very contemporary."
