The 2016/17 Annual Report was recently published. It included responses from a 2014 Workplace Experiences Survey, which shows that only 62 per cent of UBC faculty in 2014 would recommend UBC as a good place to work.

The study results indicate strong negative reactions against children that aren’t vaccinated. But we shouldn’t blame anti-vaxxers, because the majority of people who are under-vaccinated are just delaying vaccinations due to time constraints.

The previous curriculum put a lot of emphasis on handwriting, and being able to write each character, stroke by stroke. Now, handwriting is worth a very small percentage of a student's grade and emphasis is put on typing for exams and unit tests.

We are not particularly good at getting our points across. We have trouble listening to perspectives other than our own. Insults, yelling and sometimes even violence seem to be inevitabilities rather than risks. People's differences seem to be irreconcilable and impossible to challenge.
