Block Party tickets went on sale with a limited number available for discounted (early bird) prices today. The line-up for the tickets being sold in the SUB stretched from the (former) Outpost out the south entrance of the building. Though this served as a pretty obvious indicator of demand for the tickets (if only because of the discounted pricing), an even more impressive display was witnessed online: early bird tickets sold out in less than five minutes and crashed the server.
The demand clearly surpassed the AMS' expectations, though the AMS Events team confirmed that they did offer discounted pricing to anyone in line at the SUB as of 12:00, partially because of the online system crashing. Tickets are still available at regular pricing ($22 plus service charge) online and will be available closer to the event at a cost of $30.
