Celebrate Orchard Commons’ first birthday this Saturday with a bunch of free food

For those of you who don’t know what Orchard Commons is, it’s basically the swankiest residence building at any university across Canada and it is turning one year this weekend.

On Saturday, April 1 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., celebrate Orchard Commons with Santa Ono, Vancouver Ecovillage therapy dogs and various musical guests. In addition to the special guests, there is also going to be a barbecue, birthday cake, popcorn, a slushie machine and candy. Even if you don’t care about the birthday party, just go get your food for the day and skip your weekend grocery shop.

If the special guests and food aren’t enough to entice you, the party is going to have carnival games, face painting, raffle prizes and its very own Snapchat geotag.

UBC, is this where our increased tuition fees are going?

It sounds like a pretty fun day before exams start, so go indulge yourself with some good old cotton candy and act like a child at a first birthday party.
