The starving student: Foods to infuse with liquor at your next pregame

When I was in grade 12, I ate a vodka-infused gummy bear for the first time. No one had said anything to me about them being filled with liquor and my lightweight/sweet tooth stomach got the better of me. I ate the entire bowl because that’s the kind of thing I do at parties.

Alcohol-infused foods are actually pretty freaking sneaky. For all you know, that kid that’s always eating watermelon next to you in the library could just be getting a buzz on while he does his biology homework.

Here are a few of the best foods to infuse with booze for your next pregame:

Vodka Soaked Gummy Bears

Soak gummy bears or worms in your choice of booze — vodka, rum, tequila or whatever your heart desires — and cover with saran wrap and place in the fridge for 24–30 hours before eating.

Cookies and Cream Pudding Shots

Whether it’s as simple as chocolate or vanilla, mix in your favourite instant pudding flavours with your liquor and let it chill for at least an hour. Follow the directions of your instant pudding package and simply pour in the alcohol as you blend the ingredients.

Drunk Melon Balls

These bad boys may have to wait for the spring, but these will be in full swing for LDOC. A great recipe can be found online, but you can really substitute whatever fruit you like and follow the same instructions.

Boozy Brownies

There are perfect for a drunken night in watching movies and stuffing your face with junk food. Find a liqueur that has some sort of chocolate or coffee flavour and mix it in with an instant brownie mix, or find a homemade recipe here

Enjoy all the drunk eats!
