Course Overview We will be building a simple app called "Taco Shaker" to load a random taco recipe each time the device is shaken. You Will Learn: -Introduction to Tabris.js You'll learn what this mobile framework is, how it works, and what it can do -A brief introduction to TypeScript You'll learn what TypeScript is all about, and when you'd use TypeScript over vanilla ES5 or ES6 -Your first app You'll learn what dependencies need to be installed, and how to get up and running -Integrating plugins You'll learn what power plugins can provide, where to find them, and how to integrate them with your app -Building debug and production apps You'll learn when you need to make a new build, and how to use the Tabris.js cloud build tool Requirements: No prior app development experience is necessary. However, it is important that you have a solid understanding of building applications in Node.js--especially backend experience as there is no browser environment. You Should Bring: -A Windows, Linux, or Mac laptop with the latest version of Node and NPM installed -A mobile device (phone or tablet) to test with. An Android device is STRONGLY recommended. iOS devices will work, however, an Apple Developer Account ($99 USD/year) is required and you will need to generate p12 certificates before the workshop. Lunch will be provided. Taught By: Tim Bond Tim is a senior full stack developer that got his start with PHP 14 years ago. He is the author of multiple mobile apps and is very active in the Tabris.js community. When not in front of a computer, you'll probably find him hiking or biking around beautiful Seattle, or putting together a new Lego set on one of the rare rainy days.
