The platform stipulates that, if elected, the Liberal government would “continue the collaboration with the provinces and territories to improve accessibility, shorten wait times, increase access to a family doctor and improving the quality of care for the nearly five million who lack access.”

Canadian voters will head to the polls on October 21 to elect the forty-third Canadian Parliament. This is what the four main parties have promised so far on making post-secondary education more affordable.

The climate crisis is among the top priorities for voters in the 2019 federal election and all the major parties have proposed plans to address it, but they vary greatly both in terms of their policy promises and their likely feasibility and impact.

As we head deeper into the 2019 federal election, students and faculty members with dual citizenship at UBC can fulfill their civic duty and vote for their representatives in the House of Commons. Some dual citizens may have been born here but didn’t grow up in Canada at all. It can be a little more uncomfortable — if you don’t feel engaged in Canadian politics, should you bother voting at all?

Here in Canada, the form of government is based on the British Parliamentary System, but — naturally — it’s called the Canadian Parliamentary System instead.
