The AMS will be holding a by-election for VP academic and university affairs (AUA) after previous VP AUA Drédyn Fontana was removed from office.
On October 9, Council passed a motion from the Executive Performance and Accountability Committee to consider Fontana's "poor performance" in his role as VP AUA, among other concerns. On November 6, AMS Council approved a motion to remove Fontana six months into his term, effective immediately.
