Lauren Benson wins VP administration race

Lauren Benson has won the race for VP administration after running a campaign on improving communication within the AMS and curbing the society’s disconnect with students.

The race was uncontested after Benson’s opponent, Lawrence Liu, dropped out before the final debate.

As the first digital media coordinator for the AMS, Benson said her platform was built upon her interactions with students who have had negative experiences with the AMS.

Benson said she was “humbled” to be selected by the student body.

“Thank you so much to those who supported me, I am honestly speechless and so, so grateful,” Benson said.

Benson said she would focus on improving communication and transparency right away.

“I want [students] to follow along every step of the way, I want them to feel like they know what I’m doing and we’re in this together,” Benson said.
