UBC sexual assault suspect found dead

David Singh Tucker, one of the two men involved in a suspected break and enter and sexual assault case in May, died in a Surrey pre-trial facility late on Sunday July 24 .

Barb McLintock of the B.C. Coroners' Service confirmed that Tucker was found by staff unresponsive in his cell after he died early on July 25.

On June 28, it was confirmed that a suspect from the same case in May went into medical distress while in the custody of the BC Sheriff's Services.

Tucker faced charges of sexual assault and causing bodily harm (three counts), forcible confinement (three counts), robbery (three counts), break and enter and wearing a mask with intent to commit an indictable offence.

"Cause and manner of death remain under investigation," said McLintock in an email statement.
