Rekindling: Haw̓

Wearing my regalia after years of the pandemic keeping us from gathering and celebrating our culture together was a powerful experience. This dress and my rattle have been passed through my family. Both give me an opportunity to rekindle my connection to my culture, my crest, the water we depend on and my family members who are no longer with us. They remind me of who I am and where I belong, and I cannot wait for the day when we can remind each other through our language and songs.
