Check out a forestry prof talk "Avatar science" on Radiolab

You've seen the movie Avatar, right?

You know the scene where Jake Sully plugs himself into (for lack of a better word) the forest? That's definitely a crazy sci-fi impossibility. Or is it?

UBC Forestry professor Suzanne Simard, who studies forest ecology and the relationship between trees and microbes, was featured in Radiolab's (a podcast about "curiosity") newest episode From Tree to Shining Tree. She talks about her research into understand how trees communicate and work together for the help of the forest.
