Man missing from UBC Hospital since Friday: RCMP

UPDATE: Gilson was found on Saturday night, Constable Ian Sim wrote in an email.

“We have just been advised that Mr. Gilson is at Royal Columbian Hospital [RCH] in New Westminster,” Sim wrote.

“We do not know the circumstances of how he came to be at RCH, but are very happy that Mr. Gilson is safe. He will be transported back to UBC Hospital some time this evening.”

The University RCMP is seeking help in locating Daniel Gilson, last seen leaving UBC Hospital on Friday, December 4 at 4:07 p.m.

Gilson is described as a 66-year-old Caucasian male who is 5 foot 8 inches with shoulder-length brown hair and a salt-and-pepper goatee. He was last seen wearing dark blue pants, a light-coloured undershirt, a black jacket, a red ball cap with a logo and white-soled black runners.

The RCMP said that Gilson requires medication daily and has not returned to the hospital since December 4.
