While students waited in line, dressed in their most colourful rave clothing, UBC Recreation staff and volunteers handed out glow sticks as well as glow-in-the-dark body paint. The entire ballroom is pitch black with different coloured lights.

Two days after the rainbow flag outside the old SUB was burned, the latest act of support for OUTweek, UBC's Pride Collective and the LGBTQ+ community in general has popped up on campus: someone painted the engineering cairn in rainbow colours.

We weren't allowed in to take pictures, but from what we could see, the area outside the Norm Theatre looks to be set up like some kind of high school or college hallway, complete with a basketball team banner and posters of students.

As Reddit user /u/Rivolver's friend tried to look at a portion of the UBC campus on Google Street View, he noticed something a little strange — Nazi and Japanese flags, along with army vehicles, lined Main Mall.

UBC plans to develop a new residence building by 2019 that will feature sub-$700 “micro-apartments” for students. Today, a full-sized model of one of them has been put up next to CiTR at the Nest, and everyone is welcome to take a look inside.

I think it’s really cool. It’s a really cool concept and I would live in here, but the price is a bit expensive. But the idea of letting more students live on-campus and kind of being all in this self-contained space is really cool.
