Next week at UBC is Pride Week. Today, it kicked off with a special opening ceremony this afternoon by the flagpole in between the Nest and Brock Hall with a Pride flag-raising ceremony, speeches and refreshments.
On Thursday, March 9, Equity and Inclusion is hosting their main event — Pride Convergence — a celebration of the LGBTTQIA+ community. All UBC staff and faculty are welcome to join the event, which will be held at the Pit Pub from 5–7 p.m.
The goal of this event is to raise awareness in order to sustain their network and visibility at UBC. Participants will be hosting their own events in the forms of workshops and conferences next week, which you can find on their calendar.
