The upscale restaurant is closing today. “We had some very talented people working to create a truly unique dining experience; unfortunately the restaurant in its current form was not financially viable going forward.”

Cowin has already stayed with the university for over four years, leaving a long legacy. When asked what she is most proud of doing in her time here, Cowin named increased mental well-being of students and a more solidified portfolio.

Exchange Student Club

The Exchange Student Club is fairly new, but already boasts dramatic membership. Just this academic year, the club got a total of 600 new members. Every year, UBC gets 1,100 exchange students out of a population of roughly 50,000 students.

Presidential Candidates

VP Student Life

The two boast very different backgrounds — Ehrenholz is currently president of the Engineering Undergraduate Society (EUS). Scott has founded his own club, served as treasurer of his frat and held the position of vice-chair of the AMS SAC.

VP Ex

Despite the fact that only two candidates are in the running this year for the position of AMS VP external, both Alex Kilpatrick and Kathleen Simpson managed to diversify themselves and engage in lively debate.

Senate

Mental health and student engagement were under the microscope at the yesterday's debate. Eleven of the fourteen Senate candidates participated in the event and with so many candidates running with similar platforms, contenders struggled to stand out

Candidates Hussam Zbeeb, Samantha So and Andrew Liang went head-to-head in a debate to become the new VP academic and university affairs. The candidates used the debate to try and set themselves apart from each other.
